Epic Soccer Club

Jorge Rubi is proudly serving in his 8th year as President of Epic Soccer Club. Born and raised in the Valley, Jorge began playing soccer at just four years old and instantly fell in love with the game. From an early age, he knew he wanted to give back to the sport by sharing his passion and knowledge with the next generation of athletes.

With over 25 years of coaching experience in the East Valley, Jorge has worked with players at every stage of development—from preschoolers taking their first touches on the ball to high school athletes competing at elite levels. His dedication to youth development and community-based programming has made a lasting impact across the region.

“My vision when starting Epic Soccer Club was to create an environment where everyone could afford to play club soccer,” Jorge says. “We strive to keep it that way—with the help of dedicated parent volunteers and coaches who generously give their time to provide quality coaching to our players.”

Jorge’s leadership and deep-rooted love for the game continue to shape the culture of Epic Soccer Club—one built on affordability, development, and community.

Sean Banda, Director

Sean Banda – Coaching Director

Epic Soccer Club

Sean Banda brings a lifetime of soccer experience to Epic Soccer Club as a player, coach, and leader dedicated to “The Beautiful Game.” With a passion rooted in decades of playing and coaching, Sean is known for his leadership, energy, and commitment to player development.

Prior to joining Epic, Sean spent 13 years with the ActivStars organization, where he coached and directed one of the largest and most successful sites in the program. For over 10 years, he mentored players ranging from ages 5 to 15, building a site known for its high retention, division wins, and strong team culture.

Sean credits much of that success to dedicated parent coaches, a positive environment, and a balanced focus on skill-building and character development. He strongly believes soccer is more than a sport—it’s a family affair. You’ll often find him on the field with his three children, all active players, and his supportive wife right alongside him.

Now in his 5th year with Epic, Sean continues to bring that same family-driven culture, enthusiasm, and wealth of experience to our club—making a lasting impact on players, families, and the Epic community.
